The official decommissioning of the entity will take effect on July 1, 2026. This move aligns with the national strategy to optimize the domestic gas distribution framework and enhance the operational agility of the state’s energy apparatus.

The announcement regarding the liquidation of the association was formally released through state media channels, signaling a transition in the industry’s administrative hierarchy. The decision reflects a broader institutional reform aimed at consolidating functions within the oil and gas sector. By centralizing management, the authorities intend to improve service delivery and ensure a more integrated approach to natural gas supply across the country.

In light of the upcoming closure, the association has issued a formal directive to all business partners, contractors, and relevant stakeholders. All parties involved in financial or contractual relations with "Türkmengazüpjünçilik" are urged to finalize their mutual accounts and settle any outstanding obligations. The deadline for concluding all financial transactions and reconciliations has been set for June 30, 2026.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
