During a high-level ministerial dialogue at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, Turkmenistan’s Minister of Education outlined strategic updates to the national educational framework. A key announcement was the introduction of a pilot program designed to prepare children for primary school, set to begin in the 2026–2027 academic year. This initiative highlights the country's focus on early childhood education as a cornerstone of long-term academic success.

Developed in collaboration with UNICEF, the program will feature half-day sessions specifically tailored for five-year-old children. The goal is to enhance school readiness and provide a structured environment for early learning and socialization. Furthermore, the discussions emphasized the importance of digital transformation in the classroom and the continuous professional development of teaching staff to meet modern international standards.

Bilateral meetings with UNESCO leadership focused on expanding academic cooperation through the UNITWIN program and increasing the number of UNESCO Chairs in Turkmenistan. The officials noted that Ashgabat's recent inclusion in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities is a significant milestone, reflecting the city's commitment to promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all citizens.

On the sidelines of the international forum, productive talks were also held with representatives from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Preschool and School Education. The two nations discussed mutual interests in teacher training and the participation of students in international academic competitions. This regional cooperation aims to foster a shared approach to educational excellence and professional exchange within Central Asia.
