Turkmenistan Ranked Among the Top Five Gas Suppliers to Turkey
29 Jul. 06:46As of May 2025, Turkmenistan ranked fifth among natural gas suppliers to Turkey. According to data from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), Turkmen gas exports amounted to 120.03 million cubic meters, accounting for 3.39% of Turkey’s total imports. This was reported by Report.
In total, Turkey imported 3.54 billion cubic meters of gas in May, which is 22.79% more than in the same period last year. The majority — 89.32% — came via pipeline from Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, and Turkmenistan.
Along with Turkmenistan, the list of suppliers to Turkey included Azerbaijan (29.87%), Russia (33.7%), Iran (22.37%), Algeria (7.96%), and the United States (2.71%). Turkmenistan was the only new entrant on the list, demonstrating a stable dynamic of pipeline gas deliveries.
Turkey continues to diversify its energy sources, and Turkmenistan’s involvement in this process highlights the country’s growing role in the regional energy market.
