During his address at the UN General Assembly, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow proposed declaring 2028 the Year of International Law.
He noted that Turkmenistan consistently supports strengthening the UN’s central role in global affairs, with international law being a key pillar of peace and cooperation.
According to the President, this initiative would serve as a meaningful step in reinforcing legal foundations for international peace and sustainable development.

During his official visit to the Russian Federation, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a visit to the State Hermitage Museum, one of the world’s most renowned cultural institutions. The visit was confirmed by official representatives of the host country.
The President of Turkmenistan was accompanied by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Together, they explored the museum’s vast collections and historical exhibits.
Following the tour, an informal meeting of CIS heads of state was held in the St. George Hall of the Hermitage. Turkmenistan’s participation highlighted the country’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and regional cooperation.
