Turkmenistan Opens a New Era of Tourism: Turkmen Travel 2026 International Forum to Be Held in Ashgabat
18 Dec. 09:29Turkmenistan is taking a significant step toward strengthening its position on the global tourism map. From April 14 to 16, 2026, the international tourism forum and exhibition Turkmen Travel 2026 will take place in Ashgabat at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in cooperation with Talvas Yoly JSC and the Oguz Forum & Expo division.
The forum will bring together key players in the tourism industry, including tour operators, airlines, hotel chains, and experts in cultural heritage and ecotourism. Participants will be introduced to new tourism destinations, explore opportunities for international cooperation, and learn about advanced technological solutions shaping modern tourism. The event is expected to host around 100 international delegates and 60 representatives from Turkmenistan’s tourism sector.
Special attention will be given to the development of ecotourism, ethnographic tourism, and health and wellness tourism based on Turkmenistan’s unique natural resources. These areas are considered essential for sustainable tourism development in the country.
The main objective of the forum is to strengthen cooperation with international companies, showcase Turkmenistan’s tourism potential, and position the country as a promising partner for knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and technological cooperation.
Key topics will include hotel industry development, digitalization of tourism services, and the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties.
Turkmen Travel 2026 will serve as a dynamic platform for presenting innovative projects and hosting B2B and B2G meetings, fostering dialogue between government authorities, businesses, and tourism professionals. The forum is expected to play an important role in promoting Turkmenistan on the international tourism stage, highlighting its historical mission as a vital link of the Great Silk Road and demonstrating growing investor interest in the country’s tourism sector.

In his official greeting to attendees, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the ongoing integration of advanced technologies and international collaboration. The President noted that key landmarks during this 35th anniversary year of independence include the opening of new International Centers for Oncology, Pediatrics, and Dentistry, alongside modern expansions at the "Archman" health resort.
Running through October 12, the three-day event serves as a global platform uniting state ministries, international manufacturers, medical specialists, and researchers. The agenda encompasses interactive exhibition stands, technical sessions, specialized workshops, and strategic B2B and B2G business negotiations.
