Turkmenistan Honors Defenders of the Fatherland with Awards and New Ranks

In Turkmenistan, the Defender of the Fatherland Day was marked by the adoption of significant state decisions recognizing the service of military personnel and law enforcement officers. President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, signed decrees on awarding state honors and conferring military and special ranks.

According to one of the decrees, servicemen and employees of military and law enforcement agencies of Turkmenistan received national medals for their substantial personal contribution to strengthening the country’s independence and sovereignty. The document highlights their role in safeguarding the territorial integrity of Turkmenistan, protecting the constitutional system, and ensuring public security and order.

The decrees emphasize exemplary performance of official duties, high professional standards, and notable achievements in combat and special training. Long-standing impeccable service and exceptional merits to the state and society of Turkmenistan were also taken into consideration.

By another decree, issued in accordance with Article 71 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, a number of servicemen and law enforcement personnel were granted military and special ranks as well as qualification classes. The decision reflects their contribution to reinforcing Turkmenistan’s defense capability, faithful fulfillment of military duty, and efforts to strengthen the rule of law.

Defender of the Fatherland Day is celebrated annually in Turkmenistan on January 27.

Bayern Munich secured their 12th German Supercup title after defeating Borussia Dortmund 2:1 at Signal Iduna Park. Vincent Kompany's side took early control of the match with first-half goals from Nathaniel Brown and Michael Olise.

Fábio Silva scored the sole goal for Dortmund in the 75th minute, while Ramy Bensebaini was sent off with a direct red card in the 90th minute. With this victory, Bayern Munich further solidifies its record for the most Supercup titles in German football history.

Looking ahead to the new Bundesliga campaign, Bayern Munich will face Stuttgart on August 28, while Borussia Dortmund opens against Hamburg on August 29.
