A cultural and charitable evening dedicated to Turkmenistan was held as part of the annual "Ramadan Tent" project at the Memorial Mosque on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. The event was organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Moscow, with the full support of the Moscow city government. Members of the Turkmen diaspora, with the active coordination of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation, played a key role in preparing the program.
The evening was attended by embassy staff, Turkmen students studying at Russian universities, members of the diaspora, and representatives of various Muslim communities in Moscow. This gathering provided a unique platform for interfaith and intercultural dialogue, bringing people together for the traditional Iftar meal. The atmosphere of the event highlighted the shared values of compassion and community that define the holy month of Ramadan across different cultures.
The formal program featured presentations on the rich cultural heritage and national values of the Turkmen people, including videos showcasing the country's historical and modern landmarks. Speakers emphasized that the Turkmen nation has revered the month of Ramadan since ancient times, preserving unique traditions associated with fasting and communal prayers. The creative performances offered guests an insightful look into the spiritual and artistic soul of Turkmenistan, emphasizing its role as a bridge between East and West.
Following the prayers and official speeches, guests were treated to a variety of authentic Turkmen national dishes, showcasing the country’s legendary culinary traditions. The hospitality extended to all participants left a lasting impression, further fostering a sense of brotherhood and mutual respect. This successful event in Moscow served as a significant contribution to the promotion of Turkmen culture and the strengthening of humanitarian ties between the people of Turkmenistan and Russia.
