Turkmenistan Delivers New Year Gifts to Children of the Döwletliler Palace
02 Jan. 12:20As part of New Year celebrations in Turkmenistan, a festive event was held for children raised at the Döwletliler Palace. The ceremony took place in a specially decorated hall and marked the arrival of 2026 with joy and warmth.
During the celebration, children received New Year gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag. The event highlighted Turkmenistan’s strong commitment to supporting and caring for children.
The celebration was enriched by the presence of traditional holiday characters Ayazbaba and Garpamyk, as well as children dressed as the symbolic figure of 2026 — a noble horse. Representatives of ministries, state agencies, and public organizations of Turkmenistan also joined the festivities.
The children were presented with sweets, fresh fruits, school supplies, educational tools, and interactive materials. In honor of the New Year celebrated under the slogan “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the land of swift horses and great aspirations,” musical instruments were also gifted, leaving the young participants inspired and delighted.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
