The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has announced the successful completion of a comprehensive upgrade at the "Artyk" and "Garabogaz" border checkpoints. The implemented modernization initiatives have brought the infrastructure of these facilities into full compliance with international standards governing transboundary transportation. During the reconstruction, the total territorial footprint of the terminals was significantly expanded, multiplying their overall processing capacity.

As part of the project execution, engineering teams constructed new administrative, technical, and residential structures, while executing extensive structural overhauls on existing facilities. The modernization prioritized creating optimal conditions for rapid and secure inspections of vehicles and transit cargo. A key institutional enhancement involved the complete transition of all customs processing, documentation, and verification protocols onto modern digital frameworks.

The integration of advanced IT solutions has allowed Turkmenistan to strengthen its position in regional logistics management. According to current reports from relevant international organizations, the average duration required to clear customs inspection within the republic is presently recognized as the lowest in the Central Asian region. This efficiency achievement is directly correlated with process optimization at the updated border facilities.

The geographical positioning of the "Artyk" and "Garabogaz" checkpoints defines their strategic responsibility in managing foreign trade turnover and transit freight corridors. Department specialists emphasize that the modernized infrastructure will provide a powerful catalyst for accelerating cargo transport flows along international highways.
