Early this morning, festive prayers were held in mosques across Turkmenistan, marking the beginning of the sacred holiday of Eid al-Adha (Gurban bayramy). Following ancient traditions, Turkmen citizens are celebrating this holy Islamic occasion by performing sacrificial rituals and preparing traditional dishes. Believers gathered to honor the memory of their ancestors and pray for unity, peace, and prosperity.

Festive cultural events and vibrant musical performances are taking place on a grand scale in Ashgabat, Arkadag, and all provinces of the country. Throughout the three-day celebration, families lay out generous food tables, host charity meals (sadaka), and visit relatives and neighbors. Young people also actively participate in time-honored customs, including riding on large traditional swings installed for the holiday.

In accordance with a special Decree by the Head of State, May 27, 28, and 29 have been declared official non-working days in Turkmenistan to allow citizens to fully celebrate with their loved ones. Eid Mubarak to all, and may your good deeds, sacrifices, and prayers be accepted by the Almighty!
