Turkmenistan and Qatar Expand Cooperation in Horse Breeding

Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar in the field of horse breeding and equestrian sports is reaching a new stage. At the invitation of the Qatar Equestrian Federation, a delegation of the Aba Annaev International Academy of Horse Breeding, led by its rector, paid a working visit to Qatar from January 29 to 31, 2026.

 

During the visit, meetings were held to discuss the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of education, science, innovation, and equestrian sports. The discussions were attended by President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation Bader Mohammed Al Darwish, Deputy Executive Chairman of the Emir of Qatar’s Al Shaqab Equestrian Complex Khalid Abdullah Al-Hatmi, and Rector of the Aba Annaev International Academy of Horse Breeding, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences and People’s Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan, Pygy Bayramdurdyyev Khojamuhammedovich.

 

A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Aba Annaev International Academy of Horse Breeding and the Qatar Equestrian Federation. The document aims to expand cooperation in horse breeding, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and strengthen international partnerships.

 

This collaboration is expected to further enhance the global recognition of the Akhal-Teke horses, promote the development of equestrian sports, and contribute to the training of highly qualified professionals in the field.

Bayern Munich secured their 12th German Supercup title after defeating Borussia Dortmund 2:1 at Signal Iduna Park. Vincent Kompany's side took early control of the match with first-half goals from Nathaniel Brown and Michael Olise.

Fábio Silva scored the sole goal for Dortmund in the 75th minute, while Ramy Bensebaini was sent off with a direct red card in the 90th minute. With this victory, Bayern Munich further solidifies its record for the most Supercup titles in German football history.

Looking ahead to the new Bundesliga campaign, Bayern Munich will face Stuttgart on August 28, while Borussia Dortmund opens against Hamburg on August 29.
