The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosted a bilateral meeting between Ambassador A. Movlamov and the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry. The discussion focused on deepening diplomatic ties and exploring new avenues of cooperation in areas of shared socio-economic interest.

During the dialogue, the two officials exchanged views on critical issues concerning regional stability, border security, and sustainable peace. They reviewed the current progress of bilateral engagements and discussed frameworks to enhance mutual support within major international organizations and multilateral platforms.

The Turkmen Ambassador briefed the federal minister on Ashgabat’s key domestic and foreign policy initiatives, alongside ongoing socioeconomic development programs. Special emphasis was placed on the year 2026, which marks the historic 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, and the high-level international forums organized to commemorate this national milestone.

A primary focus of the meeting was directed toward the large-scale energy and transit infrastructure projects currently being implemented by Turkmenistan in the region. The sides reaffirmed that these cross-border initiatives play a transformative role in strengthening energy security, upgrading interregional connectivity, and expanding trade and economic integration between Central and South Asian countries.
