Turkmen women entrepreneurs participate in the 3rd International Forum "Women in Tourism-2026"
08 Jun. 10:45The 3rd International Forum titled "Women in Tourism-2026" was recently convened in the city of Nukus, Uzbekistan, focusing on the strategic development of female entrepreneurship within the Central Asian hospitality and tourism sectors. The regional convention featured active institutional participation from a delegation of businesswomen representing Turkmenistan.
According to an official press release issued by the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the high-level event brought together approximately 200 delegates, including private sector executives, tourism industry analysts, international organization observers, and state department officials from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and adjacent nations. The forum functioned as a critical regional platform for evaluating contemporary supply-chain logistics, discussing sustainable tourism frameworks, and building cross-border corporate alliances.
The structural agenda of the international event incorporated a specialized trade exhibition, targeted B2B (Business-to-Business) matchmaking sessions, and executive commercial negotiations. This practical layout provided the Turkmen entrepreneurial delegation with the necessary institutional infrastructure to establish new corporate partnerships, explore regional investment portfolios, and expand bilateral trade agreements focused on multi-destination cultural tours across Central Asia.


Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
