Turkmen Foreign Minister Meets with President and Prime Minister of Georgia

On October 21, 2025, during an official visit to Georgia, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held talks with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, deepening political dialogue, and fostering economic and cultural ties. Both sides emphasized the importance of high-level contacts in strengthening the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

President Kavelashvili received warm greetings and best wishes from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The parties highlighted their mutual support for international initiatives within the UN framework. The Georgian President praised Turkmenistan’s policy of neutrality as a vital contribution to global peace, which enjoys broad international support.

Later the same day, Minister Meredov met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. The discussions covered a wide range of topics in political, economic, and cultural cooperation, as well as successful collaboration in multilateral formats, particularly within the United Nations.

Prime Minister Kobakhidze noted the effectiveness of his visits to Turkmenistan this year and stressed their role in advancing bilateral relations.

Automobile Bridge over Garabogaz Bay Opened in Turkmenistan

A solemn opening ceremony of the automobile bridge over Garabogaz Bay was held in Turkmenistan, timed to coincide with the Day of Workers in the Construction and Industrial Complex, celebrated on November 3.

As reported by the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan," the construction contractor was the Ukrainian company "Altkom." The bridge meets international quality standards and technical operation norms.

The bridge spans 354 m in length and 21 m in width. The two-way roadway is designed for vehicles with a carrying capacity of 40-50 tons. Construction utilized sulfate-resistant cement, reinforced concrete structures, and other high-strength materials ensuring resistance to corrosion, deformation, and seismic loads.

The new structure is intended to provide high throughput in international freight road transport. At the opening ceremony, it was noted that the bridge symbolizes good neighborliness and friendship among the peoples of the region.
