Turkmen Filmmakers Take Part in the Central Asian and Azerbaijani Film Days

The National Palace of Cinematic Arts in Uzbekistan hosted the official opening of the Central Asian and Azerbaijani Film Days, according to uza.uz.
The event began with a round-table discussion featuring international delegations. Among the participants were Shukhrat Rizaev, Director of the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan; Rashad Azizov, Director General of the Cinematography Agency of Azerbaijan; Adilet Omarov, Deputy Chairman of Kazakhstan’s National Film Support Center; guests from Central Asian nations including Turkmenistan; as well as members of the media.

Speakers noted that creative cooperation among filmmakers from Turkic countries is steadily growing and reaching a new stage of development. International festivals, joint artistic projects, and collaborative film production continue to strengthen these partnerships.

The Film Days serve as an important platform for deepening cultural ties, bringing peoples closer through art, and facilitating professional exchange.

On the opening day, attendees had the opportunity to watch a selection of short films produced by filmmakers from Central Asia and Azerbaijan.

Turkmenistan sharply boosts soft drink exports to Kazakhstan

From January to October 2025, mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan amounted to 404.7 million US dollars, according to data published by the Kazakh analytical platform LSM.

During the ten-month period, Turkmenistan significantly increased its exports to the neighboring country. Export volumes rose 2.3 times to 242.5 thousand tons, while their total value reached 156.3 million dollars. The most dramatic growth was recorded in the soft drinks sector, where shipments expanded more than eightfold. Exports of sulfuric acid increased by 4.1 times, and deliveries of household detergents grew by 31%.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan’s imports of goods and services from Kazakhstan totaled 248.3 million dollars during the same period, marking a slight decrease of 0.9% year-on-year. At the same time, the physical volume of Kazakh exports to the Turkmen market increased by 29%, reaching 266 thousand tons.
