Turkmen Delegation Attends Prague Process Senior Officials Meeting in Skopje

On June 23–24, a high-level meeting of the Prague Process Senior Officials was convened in Skopje, the capital of the Republic of North Macedonia. The international event gathered delegates from numerous countries and global organizations, including a Turkmen delegation spearheaded by the Deputy Chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan. The details regarding the working visit and panel sessions were formally published on the service's official website.

The structural sessions served as a vital milestone within the implementation framework of the Roadmap designed to prepare for the 5th Prague Process Ministerial Conference, which is slated to take place in Vilnius in 2027. During the collaborative dialogues, the participating parties held comprehensive consultations on the draft Action Plan for the years 2028–2032. Furthermore, the participants focused on primary regional priorities, emphasizing the digitization of migration systems, data management infrastructure, and the continuous advancement of contemporary migration policy.

















Switzerland Opens Applications for Government Excellence Scholarships for Young Turkmen Researchers

The Swiss Government has officially opened the application cycle for its Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program target young specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan seeking to conduct post-graduate research or pursue doctoral studies at top Swiss universities and research institutes.

Key applicant requirements:

A Master’s degree or equivalent academic/professional credential;

Age limit: born after December 31, 1991;

A detailed research proposal including a timeline, core methodology, and planned objectives;

An official letter of academic sponsorship from a host professor in Switzerland;

For applicants currently residing in Switzerland, the entry date must not precede August 1, 2026.

The grant includes a monthly allowance, health insurance coverage, partial housing subsidies, and travel expenses. Research fellowships range from 6 to 12 months in duration. Electronic application submissions will remain open through November 27, 2026. Application procedures for Turkmen citizens are overseen by the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku.
