The capital of Tajikistan hosted the 4th High-Level International Conference organized within the framework of the United Nations Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development." Turkmenistan was represented at this strategic environmental assembly by a government delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, T. Atahallyev. Deliberations among international experts primarily focused on accelerating the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG-6) and structuring early agendas ahead of the upcoming UN Water Conference.

During the plenary sessions staged at the "Kohi Somon" palace, the head of the Turkmen delegation outlined Ashgabat’s position regarding transboundary water management in Central Asia. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan treats water resource optimization as a fundamental pillar of regional security and macroeconomic sustainability. The nation consistently advocates for a fair, transparent, and scientifically grounded distribution architecture anchored in international legal norms and coordinated through active United Nations mechanisms.

The assembly directed specialized attention toward Ashgabat's multilateral climate mitigation initiatives. Specifically, the delegation reiterated the importance of establishing a Regional Council on Water Issues under the auspices of the UN to harmonize inter-state water utilization parameters. Furthermore, the Turkmen side supported the strategic necessity of deploying regional entities focused on climate technologies and desertification control to facilitate technical knowledge-sharing across neighboring states.

At the conclusion of the thematic blocks, the Turkmen delegation reaffirmed its structural commitment to execution goals defined by primary UN environmental conventions, including biodiversity conservation. Within the structural panel tracks, delegates exchanged operational models aimed at modernizing domestic sanitation infrastructure and reinforcing secure access to clean drinking water. Participants mutually agreed that the interconnected nature of contemporary ecological threats necessitates deep structural unity across all Central Asian nations.
