Turkmen film productions achieved remarkable success at the "Turan" International Film Festival recently held in Izmir, Turkey. Representing the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography, works from the Oguz Han "Turkmenfilm" Association and the "Mahabat" Department secured several top honors. The delegation returned home with multiple "Red Apple" (Gyzyl alma) awards, signaling a strong international endorsement of Turkmenistan's evolving cinematic landscape.

The feature film "Steps of Victory" (Ýeňişli ädimler), directed by Batyr Batyrow, was crowned "Best Feature Film," earning the prestigious "Red Apple" trophy for its artistic excellence. In the short film category, Mekan Gurbanalyýew’s "Nurturing with Tenderness" (Mähir terbiýesi) also claimed a "Red Apple" award, standing out among a highly competitive field of international entries. These victories highlight the technical proficiency and storytelling capabilities of modern Turkmen filmmakers.

The animation sector also saw international acclaim as Röwşen Welmiýew’s animated short "My Game" (Meniň oýnum) received a Special Jury Award. Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey in collaboration with TURKSOY, the festival showcased over 2,000 films from more than 90 countries. The scale of the event underscores the significance of the Turkmen entries’ achievements in such a vast and diverse global forum.

The primary objective of the festival was to promote the shared cultural values of the Turkic world and foster deeper cooperation in the field of cinematography. By providing a platform for cultural dialogue, the event aimed to showcase the rich heritage and contemporary artistic achievements of Turkic-speaking nations.
