Students of the Turkmen-Russian School Visit the B. Amanov Children's Library
01 Apr. 06:55Recently, students from the Joint Turkmen-Russian Secondary School named after A.S. Pushkin enjoyed an educational field trip to the B. Amanov State Children's Library. The visit provided an excellent opportunity for the young learners to explore the world of books and understand the vital role of libraries in modern education.
Library specialists welcomed the students and conducted an informative tour, explaining the library's layout, its specialized departments, and the various activities hosted for children. The staff highlighted the importance of early reading habits and how the library supports students in their academic journey.
Highlights of the visit included:
• Early Readers' Section: Younger students spent quality time in the section dedicated to preschoolers and pupils of grades 1–3, where they explored a wide variety of illustrated storybooks and educational materials.
• Creative Exhibits: The children were fascinated by an exhibition featuring drawings of fairy-tale characters created by other young readers, as well as handmade dolls representing beloved literary figures.
• Engaging Dialogue: Both teachers and students participated in a lively Q&A session with the librarians, discussing topics such as book preservation, how to find specific resources, and upcoming library events.
The excursion left a lasting impression on the students, fostering a greater appreciation for literature and encouraging them to become lifelong library members. This initiative reflects the ongoing collaboration between schools and cultural institutions to promote literacy and creative thinking among the youth.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
