Residents of Fizuli Thank Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for Mosque Construction Initiative
20 Nov. 08:08The residents of Fizuli, a city in Azerbaijan, sent a letter of gratitude to the Chairman of Turkmenistan's Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for his initiative to build a mosque in their city, according to APA news agency.
The letter highlights that the National Leader of Turkmenistan’s proposal to construct a religious facility contributes to the region’s recovery and reflects the historic ties between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
The foundation-laying ceremony for the mosque took place online on October 7 during the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Gabala, attended by heads of Turkic countries and governments.
The letter also recalls Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s visit to Karabakh in July 2025 and the establishment of sister-city relations between Fizuli and Arkadag.
Residents of Fizuli expressed appreciation for the attention to the spiritual life of the region and wished prosperity and well-being to Turkmenistan and its people.

The school district allocated $13.9 million from its overall budget to combat unexcused absences. The program maintains strict criteria: a single unexcused absence during any given school week forfeits the student's eligibility for that week's reward.
