Regional Leaders Explore Green Technology Innovations at RES 2026 EXPO in Astana

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, alongside other visiting Heads of State, attended the international exhibition of green and sustainable technologies, "RES 2026 EXPO," held in Astana. This event, organized in conjunction with the Regional Environmental Summit, serves as a high-level platform for showcasing global achievements in renewable energy and ecological preservation. The leaders toured the extensive displays, focusing on innovative strategies for environmental sustainability.

A key highlight of the tour was the presentation of national pavilions from Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan. High-ranking guests were briefed on strategic national priorities regarding natural resource management and the transition to a green economy. These exhibitions illustrate the commitment of regional governments to integrating environmentally friendly practices into their national development frameworks while addressing climate-related challenges.

The exhibits placed significant emphasis on modern methods for ecosystem restoration, specifically targeting the recovery of the Aral Sea region. In addition to government-led programs, the exhibition featured a strong presence from the private sector. Numerous companies presented industrial solutions for waste recycling and the creation of eco-conscious urban environments, reflecting a collaborative effort between state and private entities in fostering sustainable growth.

The "RES 2026 EXPO" features more than 120 pavilions, hosting over 240 participants and international partners from 30 countries. The vast array of technological solutions displayed provides a comprehensive overview of current global trends in sustainability. This gathering facilitates essential dialogue among international stakeholders, aiming to accelerate the adoption of clean energy and advanced environmental management practices worldwide.

















Switzerland Opens Applications for Government Excellence Scholarships for Young Turkmen Researchers

The Swiss Government has officially opened the application cycle for its Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program target young specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan seeking to conduct post-graduate research or pursue doctoral studies at top Swiss universities and research institutes.

Key applicant requirements:

A Master’s degree or equivalent academic/professional credential;

Age limit: born after December 31, 1991;

A detailed research proposal including a timeline, core methodology, and planned objectives;

An official letter of academic sponsorship from a host professor in Switzerland;

For applicants currently residing in Switzerland, the entry date must not precede August 1, 2026.

The grant includes a monthly allowance, health insurance coverage, partial housing subsidies, and travel expenses. Research fellowships range from 6 to 12 months in duration. Electronic application submissions will remain open through November 27, 2026. Application procedures for Turkmen citizens are overseen by the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku.
