According to Mikhail Leus, a lead specialist at the "Fobos" weather center, the current snow cover is significantly higher than any levels recorded in the past half-century during this time of year.

Furthermore, meteorologist Evgeny Tishkovets highlighted that the total precipitation recorded yesterday reached 21 centimeters. Such an intense volume of snowfall has not been seen in the Russian capital since 1880. This atmospheric anomaly has not only refreshed the 55-year record for snow depth but also approached historical peaks established nearly 144 years ago, surprising both scientists and residents alike.
