Rashid Meredov and Filemon Yang discussed priority areas of cooperation
Yesterday in Avaza, on the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Chairman of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly Philemon Young.
The parties discussed priority areas of interaction between Turkmenistan and the UN, emphasizing the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation to ensure peace, security and sustainable development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
Philemon Young emphasized Turkmenistan's commitment to the UN Charter and international legal norms.
The special significance of the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the Third Resolution "Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan" was noted, which became a clear confirmation of broad international support for Turkmenistan's peace-loving foreign policy strategy.
Rashid Meredov noted that positive neutrality does not separate, but rather promotes the development of interaction and opens up new horizons for cooperation in various fields.

A solemn opening ceremony of a new water treatment facility with a desalination unit took place in the Esenguly etrap of Balkan velayat. The facility's design capacity is 20 thousand cubic meters of drinking water per day, reports the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan."
The facility was built on the order of the capital construction department of the Balkan velayat khyakimlik by specialists from the Economic Society "Hossarlyk." The commissioning of the facility is timed to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
The opening ceremony was attended by responsible officials from the velayat and etrap khyakimliks, honored elders of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the association "Balkanwelaýatagyzsuw."
As part of the solemn event, participants enjoyed performances by cultural and artistic figures with a concert and dance program.
