During a working visit to the United States, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhammedov, held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, according to TDH.
During the talks, the President invited Guterres to participate in the International Forum to be held on December 12 in Ashgabat, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the UN-declared International Year of Peace and Trust.
The parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN, including strengthening global security, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and promoting initiatives for preventive diplomacy in Central Asia. António Guterres expressed his appreciation for Turkmenistan’s contribution to organizing international events, particularly the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which was held in Awaza.
President Serdar Berdymukhammedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to further expanding its multifaceted partnership with the UN and expressed confidence that this collaboration would continue to contribute to peace, stability, and development at both the regional and global levels.
