During his working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the Council of Heads of State-founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS). At this high-level forum, the Turkmen leader delivered a strategic speech focusing on the sustainability of the Aral region. He emphasized that the international community and regional partners must maintain a steadfast commitment to addressing the environmental challenges that directly affect the lives of millions.

The Head of State stressed that the fate of the Aral Sea and its coastal populations represents a fundamental political and moral responsibility for all Central Asian nations. According to President Berdimuhamedov, the vital tasks of ecological restoration and social support for the region must remain a top priority on the international agenda. Turkmenistan advocates for the continuous development of coordination mechanisms to ensure that regional cooperation remains resilient and effective.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov called for a unified approach to mobilizing economic, financial, and organizational resources from both regional states and international partners. He noted that solving complex environmental and humanitarian issues requires the strategic use of diplomatic efforts alongside substantial material investment. To this end, the President put forward several concrete proposals aimed at mitigating the Aral crisis and fostering long-term stability in the surrounding territories.

Concluding his remarks, the President of Turkmenistan congratulated President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on assuming the chairmanship of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. Expressing confidence in the successful leadership of the neighboring state, President Berdimuhamedov wished his Uzbek counterpart success in the upcoming endeavors. Turkmenistan reaffirmed its readiness to support the new chairmanship in achieving the collective goals of environmental recovery for Central Asia.
