On the Occasion of Independence Day: 225 Individuals Granted Presidential Pardon in Turkmenistan
26 Sep. 05:45In honor of Turkmenistan’s 34th Independence Day, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree granting clemency to 225 inmates. The decision was announced during a Cabinet meeting.
The President emphasized that offering forgiveness to those who have shown remorse for their past actions is a long-standing tradition rooted in compassion and justice.
The Secretary of the State Security Council, Begench Gundogdyev, reported on the preparation process for the pardons. Following the presidential order, he will coordinate with the Minister of Defense and law enforcement officials to ensure the release and safe return of the pardoned individuals to their families.
President Berdimuhamedov expressed his hope that those released will lead responsible lives, contribute positively to society, and serve their country with sincerity.
