Starting April 13, the "Türkmenawtoban" Closed Joint-Stock Company will implement a revised toll structure for the high-speed motorway connecting Ashgabat and Turkmenabat. The updated pricing model is designed to fund the ongoing maintenance and technical upkeep of the road, ensuring it remains one of the region’s safest and most efficient transport corridors. These adjustments reflect the strategic importance of sustaining high-quality infrastructure for long-distance travel.

The new tariffs specifically target heavy-duty commercial vehicles and large-scale transport units. Vehicles with four or more axles, including heavy trailers, will now be charged 2.1 manats per kilometer. For medium-sized trucks and buses exceeding 3 meters in height or 3.5 tons in weight, the rate is set at 1.36 manats per kilometer. Notably, the toll for standard passenger cars remains unchanged at 0.35 manats per kilometer, maintaining affordability for the general public and daily commuters.

To assist drivers and logistics companies in budget planning, the operator has released a detailed breakdown of costs between major transit points. For instance, the total toll for a heavy-duty truck traveling from the capital to Turkmenabat will amount to 1,260 manats, while the segment to Mary will cost 655 manats. For the bus and standard truck category, the respective charges for these routes are 816 and 424 manats, providing clear guidance for commercial operations.

The Ashgabat — Turkmenabat highway stands as a premier infrastructure project, with its final section officially opened in April 2026. This expressway significantly reduces transit times between the capital and the eastern province, fostering trade and economic integration. By modernizing the toll system, the national transport authorities aim to enhance road safety and support the continued expansion of Turkmenistan’s logistical network to meet international transit demands.
