Yesterday, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, R. Meredov, and the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan, Li Won-Je. During the meeting, the diplomat presented copies of his credentials, officially commencing his diplomatic service in the country. The foreign ministry reported that the discussions focused on strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two nations.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Turkmen side congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his efforts to further enhance the friendly relations between Ashgabat and Seoul. It was emphasized that the cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea is built on the foundations of mutual trust, friendship, and understanding. The parties highlighted that high-level visits and ongoing political dialogue remain essential for the development of bilateral ties.

The diplomats reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation within the framework of international organizations. An important aspect of the bilateral dialogue discussed was the activation of inter-parliamentary relations to foster deeper political engagement. Furthermore, both sides acknowledged the vast opportunities for expanding trade and economic cooperation, expressing a strong interest in developing mutually beneficial ties between the business communities of the two countries.

The discussion also covered opportunities for expanding cultural, humanitarian, educational, and sporting exchanges. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to provide full support to the Ambassador in his new role. This diplomatic engagement marks a significant step toward broadening the multifaceted partnership and exploring new avenues for collaboration between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
