The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan extended congratulations to the President of Turkmenistan on the occasion of an important international achievement received in the first days of 2026 — declared the Year of “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the Land of the Swift Horse and Fulfilled Aspirations.” According to TDH, the congratulatory message was prompted by the awarding of international certificates to the national equestrian group “Galkynysh” by the World Circus Federation of Monaco and the European Circus Association at the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival.

The message emphasizes that the concept behind naming 2026 reflects the Turkmen people’s deep respect for one of their core national symbols — the Akhal-Teke horse. For Turkmenistan, the horse represents purpose, determination and the achievement of lofty goals. As stated in the New Year’s motto, Turkmenistan is portrayed as a country where dreams are realized with the speed and grace of a noble steed.

It is further noted that the progress of Independent and permanently Neutral Turkmenistan is likened to the powerful stride of the Akhal-Teke horse. The “smart” city of Arkadag is located in a region historically associated with this legendary breed. Scientific study of Akhal-Teke horses is conducted at the Aba Annayev International Academy of Horse Breeding, while the Gyorogly State Equestrian Circus in Arkadag provides all conditions for advancing national equestrian performances. The architectural image of Arkadag also prominently features the Turkmen horse, symbolizing Turkmenistan’s rapid development and ambitious initiatives. These achievements, the message states, clearly demonstrate the successful realization of the President of Turkmenistan’s principle that “The Motherland exists through its people, and the state exists through its people.”
