Makhtumkuli Fragi’s Poetry Published in Romanian as Turkmenistan Expands Cultural Outreach

A notable cultural presentation took place in Turkmenistan at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where a collection of poems by the great Turkmen classical poet Makhtumkuli Fragi was officially introduced in Romanian translation.

The event gathered senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, members of the diplomatic community, representatives of international organizations accredited in the country, heads of Turkmen foreign institutions, as well as academics, students, and media professionals. The presentation reflected Turkmenistan’s consistent efforts to promote cultural dialogue through diplomacy.

Among the speakers were Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Myakhri Byashimova, Ambassador of Romania to Turkmenistan Ion Navala, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Romania Annamammet Annaev, Rector of the Institute of International Relations Gulshat Yusupova, and other distinguished participants.

Speakers emphasized that the creative legacy of Makhtumkuli Fragi continues to resonate with global audiences centuries after it was written. The publication of his works in multiple languages highlights their timeless relevance. His poetry conveys values such as patriotism, peace, humanism, and mutual respect—principles that strongly align with Turkmenistan’s cultural and humanitarian vision.

Participants expressed confidence that the Romanian edition would give new momentum to cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and Romania, while also enhancing international awareness of Turkmenistan’s rich literary and artistic heritage.

















Turkmenistan Develops Bio-Agent to Neutralize Methane Emissions

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
