Independence Day Parade starts in Ashgabat

A grand parade marking the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence has officially begun on the square in front of the State Tribune Complex in Ashgabat.

Earlier in the morning, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the Independence Monument. Joining him were members of the Cabinet of Ministers, parliamentarians, heads of law enforcement and government bodies, as well as leaders of public organizations. Also present were governors of the provinces and Ashgabat city, respected elders, foreign diplomats, and international guests.

The parade is being broadcast live on national television, giving viewers across the country the opportunity to witness the celebrations as they unfold.

A Series of Events Promoting the Russian Language and Culture to Be Held in Ashgabat

From November 24 to 28, Ashgabat will host a series of cultural and educational events as part of the Russian Federation’s state program “Support and Promotion of the Russian Language Abroad,” according to the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture “Rosconcert.”

The program features performances by the Ural State Academic Russian Folk Choir, a traditional Russian folk gathering by the Moscow Folk Choir, as well as educational seminars and master classes focused on the Russian language.

Additionally, visitors will be able to attend an exhibition of traditional Russian costumes from the private collection of Sergey Glebushkin.
