As part of the official visit of the Turkmen delegation to Azerbaijan, a key meeting took place at the Baku International Sea Trade Port between the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, N. Atagulyyev, and the Chairman of "Azerbaijan Railways" (ADY), Rovshan Rustamov. The Turkmen delegation was briefed on the port’s strategic operations, its seamless integration with the national railway network, and its growing importance as a transit hub for international cargo flows.

The discussions focused on the continuous improvement of port infrastructure in the Caspian region. Both sides exchanged views on the ongoing development of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, particularly regarding dredging operations to deepen the seabed. These technical advancements are essential for accommodating larger vessels and significantly increasing the overall volume of maritime freight handling between the two nations.

A major highlight of the meeting was the emphasis on digitalizing the data exchange processes between the railway and port authorities of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. Furthermore, the parties explored opportunities for expanding multimodal transportation services within the framework of the East-West-East transit corridor.
