A formal award ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, where representatives of international organizations received the jubilee medal “30 Years of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality,” according to the ministry’s official website.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov read out the presidential decree granting foreign citizens the commemorative medal and a silver badge, and personally presented the state awards during the ceremony.

Among those honored were Dmitry Shlapachenko, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, and Narine Saakyan, the UNDP Resident Representative in the country.

In his address, the minister highlighted that Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality has gained broad international recognition as a result of consistent and goal-oriented diplomatic efforts.

It was also emphasized that foreign partners have played an important role in strengthening Turkmenistan’s independence and its internationally recognized neutral status, as well as in fostering global cooperation and promoting peace and mutual trust worldwide.
