It was announced today that Dubai authorities are planning a street constructed with gold, Euronews reports.

Although the exact method of incorporating gold is not yet revealed, the project will become part of the city’s new brand, Dubai Gold District. This district unites hundreds of shops selling gold jewelry and ornaments. The opening date for the street has not been announced.

“Gold is deeply embedded in Dubai’s cultural and business life. It symbolizes our heritage, prosperity, and entrepreneurial spirit. By creating this significant location, we aim not only to honor tradition but also to establish a unique design for a new era of development,” said Ahmed Al-Haja, Director of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE).

Dubai is already famous for iconic architectural projects, including the Burj Khalifa and the world’s largest Ferris wheel, Ain Dubai. Recently, the Ciel Dubai Marina hotel opened, reaching a height of 377 meters, making it one of the tallest hotels in the world.
