A creative meeting titled “Woman and Nature” was held at the International Science and Technology Park in Ashgabat in celebration of International Women’s Day. The event was initiated by the Public Organization “Young Naturalist.”

 

The meeting was organized with the technical support of the UNDP Turkmenistan project “Support to the Process of Updating Turkmenistan’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0)” within the framework of the country’s commitments under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement.

 

The event brought together around forty participants. Representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection emphasized the crucial role of women in shaping environmental culture and promoting responsible attitudes toward nature.

 

The atmosphere of the meeting was enriched by the participation of distinguished female professionals from the fields of education, healthcare, and media. They shared their professional experience and personal perspectives on environmental issues and sustainable development.

 

Leili Shikhmedova, Head of the Public Organization “Young Naturalist,” noted:

“In our country, the role of women in society remains consistently high. Woman and nature are inseparable sources of life and beauty. Our main task is to strengthen this harmony in the minds of young people and foster a caring attitude toward the environment.”

 

UNDP experts and young eco-volunteers discussed international climate commitments and the implementation of joint projects. Members of the organization engaged in an active dialogue with experts, receiving comprehensive answers to pressing questions.

 

The meeting concluded with a ceremonial presentation of commemorative gifts from the organizers. The event became an effective platform for experience exchange and for supporting environmental initiatives led by girls and women.
