The Hydrometeorological Service under the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan has released its latest weekly weather outlook. The forecast has been published in the newest issue of the “Turkmenistan” newspaper.
In Ashgabat, residents should expect partly cloudy skies accompanied by rainfall. Winds will shift from northwesterly to southeasterly directions, with speeds ranging between 10 and 16 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will vary from +7°C to +14°C, while daytime values will reach between +18°C and +28°C.
The Balkan region will experience similar conditions, with intermittent rain and increasing winds from northwest and east reaching 12–17 m/s. Night temperatures will range from +4°C to +15°C, while daytime highs may reach +23°C to +28°C, and slightly cooler +17°C to +22°C along coastal areas.
In Ahal, mixed cloud cover with rain is expected, along with winds of 7–15 m/s. Temperatures will range from +5°C to +16°C at night and from +16°C to +31°C during the day.
Mary region is likely to see rainfall mainly in the middle and toward the end of the week. Winds from southeast and northwest directions will reach up to 11–16 m/s. Night temperatures will range from +7°C to +17°C, and daytime temperatures from +19°C to +31°C.
Lebap will experience precipitation early in the week and again later on. Wind speeds will reach up to 12–17 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range between +5°C and +16°C, and daytime temperatures between +17°C and +30°C.
Dashoguz is expected to receive rain mostly in the latter half of the week. Winds may strengthen up to 11–16 m/s. Temperatures will range from +4°C to +15°C at night and +16°C to +29°C during the day.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
