During the commissioning ceremony of the new dry cargo ship "Gadamly," the "Balkan" Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard was honored with prestigious international certificates. Chwe Yon-Uk, President of "Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology," presented the awards in recognition of advanced engineering solutions and the high quality of assembly work achieved during the construction process. He described the successful completion of the vessel as a historic milestone, reflecting Turkmenistan's harmonious development in the transport and logistics sectors.

The "Balkan" shipyard, a core component of the Turkmenbashy International Seaport, has demonstrated its capability to build modern vessels equipped for international shipping. This achievement is seen as a clear result of collaborative international efforts and underscores Turkmenistan's growing expertise in heavy industry. The plant's ability to meet global technical requirements positions it as a competitive player in the regional maritime market.

Samat Kamalov, manager at the French company "Bureau Veritas Marine and Offshore," also presented specialized certificates to the shipyard and the "Gadamly" vessel itself. He highlighted that the ship was constructed in strict adherence to modern environmental standards and international performance benchmarks. According to Kamalov, this success confirms the strategic vision of the enterprise to align with global shipbuilding best practices and its commitment to sustainable industrial development.

















Turkmenistan Develops Bio-Agent to Neutralize Methane Emissions

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
