Kazakhstan's capital is set to launch the "Astana AI Film Festival" this coming autumn, marking a significant milestone in the intersection of cinema and advanced technology. According to "Kazinform," this event will be among the first international platforms specifically designed to showcase films generated or enhanced by artificial intelligence. It represents a bold step toward integrating high-tech solutions into the traditional creative arts.

The festival serves as a dedicated hub for developing projects that merge the film industry with AI-driven innovations. It aims to convene a diverse group of professionals, including data scientists, digital artists, and filmmakers from around the globe. By fostering collaboration between these sectors, the organizers hope to explore how automated systems can reshape visual storytelling and production efficiency.

The highlight of the festival will be an international short film competition, open to creators regardless of their geographic location. Entrants are expected to present original works that leverage AI tools in various capacities, from scriptwriting to visual rendering. In addition to the screenings, a series of supporting events, such as technical seminars and industry dialogues, are planned to enrich the program.

The "Astana AI Film Festival" is projected to become a vital catalyst for networking and professional growth within the digital content industry. By providing a stage for cutting-edge experimentation, the event aims to drive the evolution of cinema and establish new benchmarks for the future of entertainment in the digital era.

The People's Republic of Bangladesh has appointed a new head of state following a voting procedure in the national parliament. Representative of the Nationalist Party, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has assumed the highest state office. The newly elected leader has already begun receiving official congratulations from foreign counterparts.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent an official message to the new leader of Bangladesh. In his address, the Turkmen head of state expressed warm wishes on the occasion of his election to the high post. The Leader of Turkmenistan wished the new President strong health and success in all initiatives aimed at the progress and prosperity of the Bangladeshi nation.

The political transition was necessitated by the early resignation of former head of state Mohammed Shahabuddin. The previous leader stepped down due to health reasons, which required the parliament to organize elections to fill the vacant presidential post.

The parliamentary vote to elect the head of state took place on August 20, 2026. Following the count, candidate Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir secured a decisive victory with 255 votes from lawmakers, while his competitor Oli Ahmed received 88 votes.
