In the capital of Turkmenistan, a series of comprehensive training sessions organized by the International Trade Center (ITC) were concluded, focusing on the strategic regulation of digital trade and e-commerce. Funded by the European Union under the "Turkmenistan: Trade Resilience and Integration" project, these sessions aimed to present a detailed assessment of the regional legal framework and develop recommendations for a modern regulatory environment. The initiative marks a significant step in the nation's efforts to harmonize its digital policies with international standards.

The workshops gathered approximately 60 participants from both the public and private sectors, including ministerial officials and prominent business representatives. The first day was specifically dedicated to the private sector, where discussions centered on the practical implementation of digital tools and the Draft WTO Agreement on Electronic Commerce. Business leaders shared their perspectives on the challenges of online payments and accessing international markets, emphasizing the role of the private sector in shaping inclusive and effective legislation.

On the second day, ITC experts presented a comparative study of digital trade readiness across five Central Asian nations, including Turkmenistan, based on the DTRRA methodology. This analytical review allowed for a precise evaluation of how national laws align with World Trade Organization (WTO) best practices. Based on the findings, specific recommendations were formulated to systematize digital trade laws and integrate them into Turkmenistan's broader legal system to foster a competitive business climate.

These events have successfully strengthened the technical dialogue between government authorities and the business community, which is essential for attracting foreign investment.
