Ashgabat Hosts Event Dedicated to the Heritage of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei
17 Jul. 15:18On July 16, the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan hosted a special event dedicated to the socio-political and spiritual heritage of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The gathering was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Turkmenistan, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, the Cultural Counselor, Abdolreza Abbasi, instructors and students of the center's Persian language courses, and media representatives.
In their speeches, the Ambassador and the Cultural Counselor highlighted Ayatollah Khamenei's pivotal role in state governance and Iranian society, his intellectual contributions, and his enduring commitment to strengthening fraternal and good-neighborly relations between Iran and Turkmenistan.
As part of the program, Persian language instructors and students recited academic papers and poetry dedicated to the Supreme Leader's endeavors. The event also featured documentary footage outlining his life and state leadership, alongside recitations of verses from the Holy Quran and prayers for peace and prosperity in the region.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
