Ashgabat hosts conference on the strategic evolution of the Turkmen legal system

A scientific and practical conference focusing on the development of Turkmenistan's legal framework and its national legislative model was held at the Center of Public Organizations in Ashgabat. Organized by the Halk Maslahaty and the Mejlis in cooperation with various ministries and political parties, the event aimed to analyze the legal transformations achieved during the years of independence. The gathering brought together parliamentarians, legal experts, scholars, and representatives of civil society to evaluate the current state of national jurisprudence.

The conference featured specialized sessions dedicated to the formation of the legal system through the lens of national experience and international law. Discussions focused on political and legal reforms within the economic, social, and cultural sectors, highlighting the importance of the country's international initiatives in strengthening the global legal basis for peace and cooperation. Participants emphasized that the modernization of the legislative base is essential for fostering sustainable national development.

Key speakers noted that Turkmenistan's legal model is fundamentally based on the recognition of the individual as the highest value of the state and society. They stated that the constitutional principles of justice, equality, and the protection of human rights provide a solid foundation for the growth of a democratic society. The conference also touched upon the symbolic significance of the Day of the Constitution and the State Flag, emphasizing their role in promoting national unity and humanitarian ideals. Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and PETRONAS Sign New Memorandum

The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance cooperation in education and vocational training. The signing meeting involved Minister of Education J. Gurbangeldiyev, Malaysian Ambassador Mohd Suhaimi bin Ahmad Tajuddin, and PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) CEO Ismadi bin Ismail.

The agreement coincides with the 30th anniversary of PETRONAS's operations in Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector. Discussions focused on qualifying skilled workforce candidates for the energy industry, extending scholarship opportunities for Turkmen students at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, and advancing professional development programs.

To date, Turkmenistan and Malaysia have established nearly 20 educational agreements. During the recent visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Turkmenistan, three additional agreements were finalized between local universities and Universiti Tenaga Nasional to support academic mobility and exchange initiatives.
