The capital of Turkmenistan hosted a solemn cultural event dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The exhibition, titled "Memory of Our Heroes," was inaugurated at the Saparmurat Turkmenbashy Fine Arts Museum. This initiative aims to preserve historical heritage and pay tribute to the bravery of previous generations through the evocative power of visual arts.

The exposition features more than 50 paintings and sculptures by renowned Turkmen artists, illustrating life during the war years. The works capture both the battlefield heroism and the resilience of those on the home front. Pieces by prominent masters such as Robert Shabunts, Chary Ovezov, and Yarly Bayramov depict poignant moments, including emotional farewells and the unwavering spirit of the people striving for a common goal.

A significant portion of the exhibition highlights the extraordinary contribution of Turkmen women to the war effort. Historical records showcased through art reveal that Turkmen women donated approximately 7.4 tons of gold and silver jewelry to the Defense Fund. This selfless act, along with their tireless work in providing warm clothing and supplies for soldiers, serves as a central theme in many of the featured canvases.

The exhibition also reflects the statistical magnitude of Turkmenistan's involvement in the conflict. Out of 300,000 citizens who participated in the war, over 130,000 were decorated with medals, and 104 individuals were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Through the masterpieces of Izzat Klychev, Ashir Nuriyev, and the sculptures of Agadzhan Kakaesenov, the event ensures that the legacy of these veterans continues to inspire future generations.
