Arkadag Football Club of Turkmenistan has reached a new valuation milestone, with its total market worth exceeding €3 million. The increase follows the signing of midfielder Meylis Diniyev, which boosted the club’s estimated value from around €2.9 million to €3.05 million.
The 25-year-old joined Arkadag after playing in Kyrgyzstan’s domestic league for Kara-Balta–based FC Kyrgyzaltyn. During the previous season, Diniyev featured in 12 matches and scored twice. According to market assessments, his individual value stands at €150,000.
Diniyev is well known in Turkmenistan, having previously represented local clubs Akhal and Kopetdag. He is also an international player for the Turkmenistan national team, earning six caps and scoring once in a match against Chinese Taipei in November.
Arkadag continues to set the standard in Turkmenistan’s domestic football scene. In 2025, the club, led by head coach Vladimir Bayramov, secured its third consecutive national championship and lifted the Turkmenistan Cup. On the continental stage, Arkadag achieved a historic triumph in May by winning the AFC Challenge League Cup 2024/25 after defeating Cambodia’s Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng 2–1 in the final.
Later in the year, the club added the Turkmenistan Super Cup to its trophy cabinet and advanced to the round of 16 of the AFC Champions League Two for the first time. There, the Turkmenistan champions will face Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, a team featuring global stars including Cristiano Ronaldo. The matches are scheduled for February 11 and 18.

FC Barcelona and Spain midfielder Gavi (Pablo Paéz Gavira) is donating approximately €1.3 million to fund the construction of 150 homes for homeless and low-income individuals. The project will take place in his hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca, located in the province of Seville.
According to Spanish media outlets, the development is designed to shelter around 300 people who face financial difficulties in purchasing or renting a home. The initiative is a purely charitable endeavor funded entirely by the footballer rather than a commercial real estate investment.
Specific details regarding construction timelines and eligibility criteria for housing recipients will be announced in subsequent phases of the project.
