Ahal Region Hosts Cultural Commemoration for the Centenary of Honored Artist Nabat Nurmuhammedowa

A commemorative cultural and musical assembly was organized at the cultural center of the Kaka district in the Ahal region to solemnize the 100th anniversary of the birth of the prominent folk performer and Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, Nabat Nurmuhammedowa. The event, which brought together regional cultural figures, scholars, and members of the public, received extensive coverage in the national press.

During the academic and reflective segment of the event, entitled "The Singer Who Reached Hearts," speakers presented comprehensive evaluations of the performer’s biography and artistic evolution. As an exemplary disciple of the legendary master Sahy bagşy, Nurmuhammedowa contributed structurally to the preservation and development of the national musical repository while establishing a sustainable lineage of contemporary performers.

A significant portion of the discourse focused on the early development of her professional career, noting her induction into the State Philharmonic Society at the age of sixteen. Analysts highlighted her strategic role during the global conflicts of 1941–1945, when she traveled with specialized cultural brigades to deliver performances directly to military units on the frontlines, providing crucial psychological and spiritual support to the troops.

The celebratory evening concluded with a series of live performances by leading national vocalists, including the late master's prominent student, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Shemshat Hojaýewa. The repertoire featured authentic interpretations of classical compositions originally popularized by Nurmuhammedowa, such as "Galmanam," "Tüni derýa," and "Zülpüň seniň," which resonated strongly with the attending audience.

















Turkmenistan Develops Bio-Agent to Neutralize Methane Emissions

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
