Persistently high temperatures and dry weather conditions across several regions of Kazakhstan are posing significant risks to the nation’s grain crop for the current agricultural season. According to industry analysis, these unfavorable meteorological conditions could adversely impact total output and crop development.

Representatives from the Grain Union stated that formulating accurate yield forecasts remains challenging at this stage of the season. While early-seeded fields have experienced the greatest strain from the moisture deficit, upcoming precipitation is anticipated to relieve stress on mid- and late-season crops.

Conversely, intense rainfall accompanied by strong winds was recorded last week in portions of the country's northern and eastern territories. Harvesting operations are currently underway in these key zones, with agricultural producers commencing the gathering of early barley and pulse crops.

For comparison, during the preceding 2025 agricultural cycle, Kazakhstan expanded its total grain harvest by 2 percent, reaching an aggregate output of 27 million metric tons, with an average yield recorded at 1.7 metric tons per hectare.
