5th Open International Internet Olympiad on Strength of Materials held in Turkmenistan

The Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute successfully hosted the 5th Open International Internet Olympiad, bringing together university students from Turkmenistan and abroad. The competition focused on the field of "Strength of Materials," a fundamental discipline for engineering education. The opening ceremony, held at the institute's main building, marked the beginning of a high-level academic exchange between aspiring engineers worldwide.

The international event saw participation from 877 students representing 63 universities across 15 countries, including Germany, the USA, China, Russia, and Turkey. The diverse range of participants from countries such as Australia, Malaysia, and Romania highlights the competition's growing global reach. This platform allows students to test their technical expertise against international standards while fostering academic collaboration.

During the single-round individual competition, participants were tasked with solving six complex engineering problems within a 120-minute timeframe. A panel of experts evaluated the submissions based on accuracy and methodology. Turkmen students displayed exceptional proficiency, securing a total of 106 awards. Notable performances were recorded by students from various domestic technical and industrial institutes.

International participants from the People's Republic of China also demonstrated significant success, with 432 students competing and 101 of them winning prizes. The high level of engagement from top-tier international universities reflects the prestige of the Olympiad organized by Turkmenistan. Such initiatives continue to play a crucial role in enhancing educational quality and promoting scientific dialogue among the global youth.

















Entrance Examinations for Higher and Secondary Vocational Institutions Completed in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has officially concluded its admission campaign for higher and secondary vocational educational institutions for the 2026–2027 academic year. Held between July 13 and August 24, 2026, the examination process was conducted under state commission oversight and public supervision. Notably, entrance exams at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University and the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs were administered using a standardized testing format.

Following the examination results, over 18,000 applicants were admitted to higher education institutions. Under the newly implemented "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052," several new academic tracks were established across specialist, bachelor's, and master's degree levels, aligning with the "Atlas of Future Professions." Priority admission status was granted to international competition winners, top athletes, and high school medalists.
