The volume of export goods from the Russian Federation transiting through Turkmenistan's transport network has registered a substantial increase. The official logistics data were presented by transport authorities during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. These latest figures highlight the growing strategic importance of the Central Asian region in reshaping international trade routes.

The most prominent growth was observed along the Trans-Caspian route, which traverses the infrastructure of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, where total freight volumes surged by 98 percent. This trade corridor optimizes cargo delivery from the Baltic Sea to South Asian destinations, reducing transit time to just 15–20 days. Such efficiency shortens the transport duration by half compared to the traditional maritime route via the Suez Canal.

The combined land and sea segment serves as a key link within the large-scale "North–South" International Transport Corridor. The favorable geographical position of the involved Central Asian nations enables the rerouting of industrial and raw material flows, thereby minimizing overall shipping expenditures. The accelerated development of this artery aligns with the long-term economic priorities of all participating states.

The infrastructure of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport plays a crucial role in the ongoing expansion of this transport route's carrying capacity. The modernized Caspian port facility ensures swift handling, processing, and transfer of transit containerized and general cargo. Further technological upgrades at the harbor are designed to reinforce the region's status as a pivotal distribution hub across the Eurasian continent.
