A new round of Turkmen–Russian political consultations was held today in Turkmenistan, in the city of Ashgabat, with the participation of Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to the further development of bilateral relations. It was emphasized that the strategic, friendly, and trust-based partnership between Turkmenistan and Russia continues to evolve in a consistent and constructive manner.

The diplomats also expressed satisfaction with the effective expansion of cooperation not only at the bilateral level but within multilateral frameworks as well. Particular attention was paid to joint engagement within the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Central Asia–Russia cooperation format.

The sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening dialogue between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Russia in line with the Cooperation Program for 2025–2026.

Regional security and long-term stability issues were also discussed as key elements of international cooperation involving Turkmenistan.
