The national sambo team of Turkmenistan delivered a stellar performance at the recently concluded World Cup in Yerevan, Armenia. Over two days of high-stakes competition, Turkmen athletes showcased their technical prowess and resilience, earning a total of seven medals. The team's final tally consists of one gold, four silver, and two bronze medals, highlighting the country's growing strength in combat sports.

The highlight of the tournament was the exceptional performance by Sanjarbek Avazberdiyev in the combat sambo category. Competing in the under-64 kg weight class, Avazberdiyev overcame formidable opponents to secure the team's only gold medal.
