Turkmenistan will uphold its long-standing tradition of presenting laptop computers to children entering the first grade of general secondary schools for the upcoming academic year. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov officially signed the relevant Decree during a government session, reaffirming the state's commitment to supporting young learners. This initiative is a cornerstone of the national strategy to modernize the educational environment and foster a tech-savvy generation.

In accordance with the document, the Ministry of Education has been authorized to contract local manufacturers, specifically the "Agzybirlik tilsimaty" joint venture and the "Aýdyň gijeler" business society. These entities will be responsible for supplying the required number of domestically produced laptops, ensuring their installation in educational facilities, and providing ongoing technical support. The entire distribution and setup process is mandated to be completed by August 1, 2026.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that the investment in educational technology is yielding significant results, with Turkmen students securing 807 medals in international Olympiads during the first four months of 2026. The Head of State emphasized that the timely execution of this decree is crucial for maintaining this momentum. Relevant officials were instructed to oversee the procurement and distribution phases to ensure that every new student receives their device before the start of the school term.

The government maintains that nurturing a youth population proficient in innovative technologies and possessing a broad worldview is a key priority of state policy. Gifting laptops to first-graders is viewed as a strategic step toward the comprehensive digitalization of the education system. By providing personal computers to every child at the beginning of their academic journey, the state aims to bridge the digital divide and create equal learning opportunities for all students across the country.
